Today’s the day!!

Today is the day we depart on our Patagonia Chile adventure. Planning for this trip has been so time consuming that it impacted the opportunities to keep our website up-to-date and promote and thank the companies, organizations, and individuals who have supported our small project with ambitious, but doable, goals. We couldn’t be here without you all. We hope to do justice to your efforts with much better post-trip thanks and appreciation. Until then a huge thanks to you all. You know who you...

Patagonia Chile 2017: Winter Training Hike – Burnaby Lake

Patagonia Chile 2017: Winter Training Hike – Burnaby Lake

With the recent heavy rains and warmer temperatures we were hoping for a training hike without icy trails but it wasn’t the case. Oh well, we are Street2Peaker’s so we take what we are given and get on with it. These 14 youth did a incredible job of backpacking two loops of Burnaby Lake (21 km’s today) with trail conditions that can be tough to walk on.       [gallery_bank type=”images” format=”masonry” title=”false” desc=”false” responsive=”true” display=”all” sort_by=”pic_name” special_effect=”grayscale” animation_effect=”bounce” album_title=”true”...

Patagonia Chile 2017: Training Hike – Capilano Pacific

With packs loaded with more weight we tackled the 15 round-trip trail that covered Ambleside Park to the south and the Cleveland Dam at the Capilano Lake (one of our drinking water sources) to the north. Thankfully the weather gave us a break with mostly cloudy conditions to make it much nicer to hike in. Thanks to our volunteers Crystal, Hai and Jesse and S2P “staff” Gord and Brandon. Thanks to the Chile “kids” for another awesome time on the trail!       [gallery_bank type=”images” format=”masonry” title=”false” desc=”false” responsive=”true” display=”all” sort_by=”pic_name” special_effect=”grayscale” animation_effect=”bounce” album_title=”false”...
